The whole experience reminded me of previous Cognitive Behaviour Therapy I’ve had in the past but with a bigger impact on bringing the issues to the surface much clearer and more precise. I felt a great deal of relief knowing that I had developed the ability to face my issue much more positively.

The therapy gave me the understanding on how to challenge myself and felt completely at ease and embraced the therapy knowing it was going to help me.

This is a completely different way of working with individuals who experience any anxiety disorders – it’s CBT with a Turbo Charged element, making it much more progressive in terms of exposure therapy. By offering VR, patient sessions are being reduced from 8+ down to 2 and are much more engaged than traditional CBT. VR treatment is definitely the future in exposure treatments and is going to change the way treatment is offered. Who knows where this is going to take therapy in general!

I found the intervention helpful for both my clients and myself. It was nice to be able to offer something new that enhanced evidence-based therapies. The programme was easy to use via an Ipad and the set up of the screen was impressive. The switch between triggering images and relaxing spaces was swift and helpful, and was easy to relax using different sounds and images. These brought down the ‘affect’ of anxiety very quickly and the switch reinforced the message that anxiety does reduce and that clients can self-regulate emotions linked to anxiety swiftly/effectively.
