We are looking to engage with people with learning disabilities and those that support people with learning disabilities.
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded grant funding from SBRI as part of their Competition 20: Autism and Learning Disabilities cohort.
Living with autism and/or having learning disabilities can be difficult for patients and their families due to significant health inequalities these communities face, including lack of access to sufficient support and care. The competition was launched to support innovative projects that will tackle challenges around the early detection of autism and/or learning disabilities, and around the provision of appropriate and relevant support and care equally to patients, their families and carers. The opportunity is funded by NHS England in collaboration with Autistica, the Accelerated Access Collaborative and AHSN Network, SBRI Healthcare.
For our project we will be looking to develop our technology and therapy model to better serve people with learning disabilities and to continue furthering the work we already do with autistic people. As part of the project, we are hoping to engage with people with learning disabilities and those that support people with learning disabilities. We think collaboration is imperative for this project as we want to create a solution that has been built around the users.
We will be running focus groups in the new year so if you have learning disabilities, work or support people with learning disabilities please get in touch with our Head of Operations, Penny Day at penny@xrtherapeutics.co.uk.
